Arctic Tourism Week Interregional Forum took place on 9–13 April in Norilsk as part of the plan for the main events of Russia’s chairmanship of the Arctic Council in 2021–2023, which is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
The sessions focused on successful tourism cases in Arctic, master planning, industrial and expedition tourism practices. The discussions addressed the development of gastronomic tourism, popular science excursions, as well as a new trend in Russia – cruises to the Arctic.
The participants had the opportunity to visit the sights of Norilsk and Taimyr: a reindeer herder camp, the foothills of the Putorana Plateau, and industrial facilities of the city. The exhibition ‘In the Centre of Taimyr’ was held in the run-up to the Forum.
