The Arctic Days in Moscow Forum

The Days of Arctic and Antarctic Forum will be held in Moscow on 25–27 November. In addition, the Faces of the Arctic exhibition will open from 3 December on Strastnoy Boulevard in Moscow.

The Days of Arctic and Antarctic in Moscow International Arctic Forum will feature a presentation of the programme for Russia’s chairmanship of the Arctic Council from 2021–2023 as well as a session of the International Scientific Congress. The Russian Antarctic research station Vostok will be connected via video conference.

The event is being organised by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment of the Russian Federation and the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and Arctic.

The plenary session of the forum will focus largely on strategies for the development of the Russian Arctic Zone and ensuring security in the period through 2023. Participants in the plenary session will include the Ministry for Economic Development and the Ministry of Nature of Russia as well as heads of the provinces of the Arctic Zone of Russia.

The event programme includes presentations of the support measures for entrepreneurial activities in the Arctic and an introduction to the goals and projects of the Centre for Arctic Initiatives. A special session will focus on tourism in the Arctic, the improvement of infrastructure in the Arctic territories and environmental protection in the region. The Open Arctic and Antarctic International Scientific Congress will feature scientists from Russia, the UK, the US, Iceland and South Korea.
