The Conference on Bioresources and Fisheries in the Arctic took place on 11–12 May in Arkhangelsk as part of the plan for the events of Russia’s chairmanship of the Arctic Council in 2021–2023, which is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation.

The event served as a platform for discussion of effective mechanisms to develop the fishery industry in the Arctic region and measures to preserve the ecosystem in high latitudes. The plenary session analysed the current state of aquatic biological resources in the Arctic and ways to preserve them. The conference featured eight discussions in the format of roundtables and seminars as well as a seminar on measures to develop aquaculture in Russia.
