The 4th Ministerial Meeting on the Development of Science in the Arctic (ASM4) took place on 14–15 April in St. Petersburg as part of the plan for the main events of Russia’s chairmanship of the Arctic Council in 2021–2023, which is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation.

The programme on the first day included a recap of Russia’s chairmanship of the ASM4 as well as a ceremony to transfer the powers of the chairmanship from Russia to Norway. During the second day of ASM4, speeches were delivered by representatives of the Russian Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North, representatives of non-Arctic states, as well as scientific and educational organizations.

In preparation for the ministerial meeting, experts compiled a collection of scientific work results in the northern latitudes as a tool for monitoring the situation in the region and establishing new partnerships.
