The ‘Northern Sea Route. Results and Plans’ session took place on 15 June in St. Petersburg (at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum) as part of the plan for the main events of Russia’s chairmanship of the Arctic Council in 2021–2023, which is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
The discussants touched on the mechanisms for increasing the efficiency of collaboration between consignors, ship-owners, public authorities and the infrastructure operator, Russia’s need for special vessels, hydrographic and auxiliary ice-class ones, technical maintenance of ice-breakers. They assessed the possibilities of existing wharves for large-tonnage construction.
