Murmansk Region to Host 7th Teriberka Arctic Festival on 16–17 July
The 7th Teriberka Arctic Festival will take place on 16–17 July 2022 as part of the main events of Russia’s chairmanship of the Arctic Council, which are managed by the Roscongress Foundation. A directive to hold the festival was signed by Murmansk Region Governor Andrey Chibis.
“The concept of the festival is now in the final stage of being prepared. This year, we will bolster the conceptual component of the festival. Following discussions at a meeting of the organizing committee in charge of preparing for and holding of the event, we will definitely share our ideas with the fans of one of the best events in the country,” Murmansk Region Deputy Governor Olga Kuznetsova said.
The festival is expected to have musical, creative, tourism, ecological, gastronomic, and fair sections for its guests.
Applications are now being accepted to participate in the festival. Artists, catering organizations and food trucks, tourism businesses, manufacturers of unique northern goods and souvenirs, organizers of sports events, environmental educators, the media, volunteers, and other individuals and companies that are interested in the festival are invited to take part. A preliminary application can be submitted here until 21 April.
The Teriberka Arctic Festival seeks to unlock the tourism potential of small areas of Russia’s Arctic zone, develop event tourism in the Arctic, and promote local products and cuisine. In 2021, the festival won a prize from the Russian Geographical Society, and also won the National Events of Russia Prize in the ‘Culture. Concerts and Music Festivals’ category.
In 2021, the event was attended by more than 5,000 participants from 27 regions of Russia. The festival was held as part of the cultural programme of Russia’s Chairmanship of the Arctic Council in 2021–2023.
