The ‘Creative Industries of the North’ programme was a separate section at the Creative Business Forum, which was held on 15–18 June at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum as part of the main events of Russia’s chairmanship of the Arctic Council in 2021–2023. The Roscongress Foundation organizing the events of the chairmanship.
Several sessions were dedicated to the creative industries of the North. One of them focused on the impact the creative economy has on the well-being of the inhabitants of the Arctic. Other discussions focused on issues such as territory branding and cinema in the North. A separate session addressed problems related to the development of tourism infrastructure and the experience economy. The Forum participants also discussed the region’s cultural values as well as the preservation of Arctic heritage. In addition, a session was dedicated to new business opportunities as a result of the development of the creative sector.
