Business and Concert Programme of the VI Arctic Festival Teriberka Published

The sixth Teriberka Arctic Festival is to be held on 21–22 August in the Murmansk Region with the Participation of Murmancongress.

This year, the Festival will constitute part of the cultural programme under the auspices of the Russian Federation’s Chairmanship of the Artic Council from 2021 to 2023. The Roscongress Foundation is the Chairmanship operator.

Arctic territories have colossal potential – this being the idea penetrating through the Festival: disclosure of the unique nature of the small Arctic territories, development of ethnic tourism and popularization of local products and cuisine.

In addition to creative and entertainment elements, the Teriberka Festival will offer its participants an extensive business programme on 21 August at the Dialogue venue. The programme includes sessions on topics such as “The Murmansk Region as an example of Arctic territory tourism”, “Arctic Youth” and “Sustainable development of northern territories”. The invited speakers are Murmansk Region dignitaries, federal public officials and business representatives, heads of relevant Murmansk Region departments and foreign partners.

The Festival will not only bring together the expert community but also reveal the amazing diversity of the northern cuisines. The “Arctic Cuisine” regional tasting fair will include a “Taste of the Arctic” food court and a design and study laboratory called “Arctic Cooking school”.

The Cinemarathon site will offer translation of films from the “Northern Character” film festival collection.

The “Master Class and Trade” area will offer Festival guests and visitors a chance to visit a fair of souvenirs and other products, to acquire new skills at craft and arts master classes. In addition, on 21 August, the venue will host a presentation by the historical re-enactment Imandra Viking Fest.

For lovers of sport and excitement, there will be an Active Leisure Area offering visitors paddle boarding, diving and kayaking, boat and helicopter trips, and a chance to take part in small sport relays.

There will be a music stage operating throughout the two days. The official opening will be on the first day. Musicians from the Polar regions and domestic rock stars – the Slot and Amatory groups and the singer Mara will entertain Festival visitors. In addition, on 21 August, the Stage in the Cliffs will present the FORMAT electronic music festival featuring leading DJs.

The event has been made possible by the improvement in the COVID-19 situation in the Region and the lifting from 12 August of a number of restrictions previously introduced to stem the tide of the infection.
